TEXTtrac is primarily used by dog wardens and rescue centres when it is not always easy to have a telephone conversation to retrieve MicroChip details.

You may need to look up a MicroChip whilst struggling to restrain a dog, or perhaps in an area without good mobile phone signal.

In most cases you are able to send and receive an SMS even when the signal is too weak to make calls.
